Coming from a family of private collectors, Shanyan’s passion for fine art, and her knowledge of the art world, were developed from a young age.

An art world entrepreneur, Shanyan has the pleasure of providing a tailored and independent fine art service to new and established collectors. She provides assistance in sourcing and selling art works, as well as building and maintaining art collections. As Founder and Director of Shanyan Fine Art, she advises across Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art, and has collected and placed works by Monet, Degas, Picasso, Matisse, Miró, Magritte, Basquiat, Hirst, Murakami, and Warhol, amongst many others.

As a respected member of the international art world, Shanyan has served as a Council Member of the Serpentine Galleries and a member of the women-only Artemis Council of the New Museum of New York. Shanyan is also on the Advisory Board of Unit London, an emerging contemporary art gallery in London, as well as Eye of the Collector, an alternative to the traditional art fair in central London.

Shanyan was Founder and Director of HUA, now a digital platform for Chinese Contemporary Art involved in special projects with museums, institutions, galleries and the trade.

In addition to her work in Fine Art, Shanyan formally partnered with luxury jewellery label Buccellati as their Muse. Shanyan became a Muse for internationally renowned Interiors artist Sera Loftus. Shanyan continues to enjoy working as a Muse to a number of internationally acclaimed artists and creatives in the industry.

Shanyan is a strong supporter of Philanthropy, and is currently a Global Ambassador for Care for Children. Shanyan has served as Ambassador for Borne UK amongst many other charities. Originally from Hong Kong, Shanyan read English and Law at the University of Cambridge and has worked at Goldman Sachs and Sotheby's.
